Take into account structural movement and temporary elongations of the existing joints when determining the appropriate tape size. The expansion speed of VKP® Trio 750 depends on the temperature. In high temperatures, store the tape in a cool location; in low temperatures, store in a warm location. Use VKP® Plus for joints between solid components. We recommend using flexible tape or EPDM outdoor sealing tape for the bottom joint. Perform adequate tests when applying paints and sealants. Does not react with commercially available plastering mortar. Secure the window using spaced installation. Façade joints subject to high loads must be sealed using VKP® Plus. For the differential pressure measurement, the joint must be completely filled and the tape must have been allowed to expand evenly for at least 4 weeks prior to the test.
Datasheets(X)
Sealing of window joints and door joints, connection joints of conservatories to the main building and other construction connections.
Preparation
- Clean any dirt from the substrates. Remove rust, oil, grease, old sealing material, mortar residues etc. from the joint edges before application. Smooth uneven substrates.
- The joint edges must be parallel.
- The tape dimension is calculated using the size table after measuring the joint widths.
Installation on windows
- Cut off approx. 5 cm of the over-compressed section at the start and end of the tape.
- Pull the protective film off the self-adhesive strip and adhere the tape to the clean and dry window profile.
- Make sure that the inside and outside are positioned correctly (printing on the inside).
- Do not stretch the tape.
- Add approx. 1 cm of extra length per metre when cutting the tape.
Installation in corners
- Butt-joint the tape in the corners and compress it longitudinally. Do not install the tape around the blind frame in one piece. Leaks must be prevented. Seal with Flexband adhesive, Wütop film adhesive or All-In-One connection adhesive, if available.
